The Great Outdoors
Beyond the Garden Fence
We encourage children to explore, connect and appreciate the beauty of nature as part of our daily practice.
Beyond the garden fence you will find Chickens, Pygmy Goats and Micro Pigs. Children are taught about the life-cycle these animals and how we care for them. Animal related activities such as feeding time provides children with a sense of responsibly, whilst also developing their emotional understanding of feelings such as empathy.
Our outdoor log cabin provides an opportunity for children to explore nature themed books and engage in creative nature themed activities and sensory play. The log cabin is also a place where staff can develop children’s understanding of the natural world through open conversations and adult led activities.
Children have free access to perform on our theatre stage where they re-enact events and stories. Our performance space nurture’s active imagination and creativity, making nursery a fun and exciting place to be.
The performing arts is a great way for children to develop confidence, explore new ideas and different emotions.
Educational trips
We offer regular trips to complement our curriculum and themes. We have visited places such as the Buckingham Palace, the Science, Natural History and Transport museum. Children have also enjoyed trips to other locations such as Godstone Farm, Fishers Farm, Fruit Picking, Box Hill, Teddy Bears Picnic in Richmond Park, and various seaside trips.
Our setting has its own fully equipped and fully maintained minibus that it has exclusively for its own use.
